The Pope Spews Dope & The Miracle Cancer Cure

Dopey Pope: Gay Marriage Threat to Creation
At the Vatican, during an annual address to diplomats concerning world events, Pope Benedict (l.) attacked gay marriage, regarding it as a threat to creation.
"Creatures differ from one another and can be protected, or endangered, in different ways, as we know from daily experience. One such attack comes from laws or proposals which, in the name of fighting discrimination, strike at the biological basis of the difference between the sexes," said the celibate senior. Anyway, why the hell are diplomats even listening to this loon!? What kind of actual insight can this sexually-frustrated demagogue provide!?

Couple Stabs Baby to Death in Black Magic Ritual
In Pakistan, police have arrested a couple on charges of stabbing their three-month-old baby to death in a black magic ritual they believed would make them rich. Police also recovered a three-year-old girl they feared would be killed as well. Authorities believe a witch doctor advised the couple to kill the baby as a way to attain great wealth.

Would-Be Cartoonist Murderer Now Facing Terrorism Charge

In Copenhagen, the Islamist nutjob who broke into the home of the cartoonist responsible for controversial caricatures of Mohammad in 2005 is now facing a terrorism charge in addition to two charges of attempted murder. Police say that the 28-year-old suspect has links to al Qaeda and other militant organizations. Although the man broke into the cartoonist's home on New Year's Day wielding an axe and a knife, the suspect is denying he was trying to murder anyone.

Met Pulls Images of Muhammad

In New York,
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has bowed to objections by Muslims over images of Mohammad being featured in its Islamic collection, pulling the "offensive" pictures from public display, perhaps permanently.

Priest Charged with Sex Assualt
In North Carolina, a Catholic priest has been charged with second-degree sexual offense and sexual battery against a young boy. Detectives say Father Edgar Sepulveda (l.) committed the offenses in May while visiting church members.

Mallrat Rabbi Admits to Touching Teens
In Colonie, NY, a popular rabbi has admitted to "inappropriate physical contact" with two teenage boys. Rabbi Yaakov Weiss (r.) pleaded guilty to charges of child endangerment and also admitted that he instructed the boys to lie about the contact. Arrested in September 2008, Weiss, released a statement saying the allegations were "100% untrue, baseless, and a complete and utter fabrication." When he wasn't touching boys, Weiss occasionally spent his precious free time lobbying for Jewish holiday displays at the local mall.

And Finally...Lady Claims Prayer Cured Her Cancer!
In Australia, a woman is claiming she was cured of her cancer through prayer and a magical relic. After being diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer in 1993 and given months to live, Kathleen Evans (l.), 66, began wearing a relic of Mother Mary MacKillop's clothing and praying regularly. She claims to have made a full recovery through this method alone and has received no other treatment. Last month, the Pope approved Evans' recovery as Mother Mary's second miracle. Obviously, doctors and scientists are skeptical and, predictably, Evans and the Church are refusing to share medical records that might support her claims.

As someone whose dealt with cancer in my own family, I have little patience for these types of ridiculous, unsubstantiated claims. During the early stages of my mother's diagnosis, she mildly entertained the idea of bypassing chemotherapy and relying entirely on New Age treatments. And why? Because of silly stories like this one that perpetuate nonsense and distrust in modern medicine. Fortunately, she was talked out of it but I can only imagine what would have happened if she was a true believer in this type of mumbo-jumbo. Shame on those media outlets reporting this crap wholesale.

Burqas to Be Relegated to French Carnivals & The Chubby Diet Guru

Wanna Wear a Burqa in France? Join the Circus!

In Paris, lawmakers have drafted a bill that will possibly fine Muslim women 750-euro ($1,000 USD) for wearing the full Islamic veil in France. Additionally, men who force their wives to wear the burqa or niqab could face an even heavier fine. "The proposed measure would prohibit the covering of the face in public places and on the streets, with the exception of special cultural events or carnivals," stated Jean-Francois Cope, who heads the governing UMP party in the National Assembly.

Priest Accused of Sex Abuse Jumps Off Church Balcony...and Really Hurts Himself
In Illinois, a priest accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy sustained serious head injuries after jumping off a balcony inside an abandoned church. Whether the Rev. Alejandro Flores (l.), 37, was attempting suicide or is, more simply, a total idiot is unclear; as the balcony was only 20-feet-high. Instead of killing himself, the priest crashed into the pews below and is now hospitalized in intensive care.

Pastor Sends Lewd Online Video to Under-aged Girl
In Houston, a local pastor is facing federal charges after allegedly sending a lewd video of himself to a 16-year-old girl in Louisiana. Dean Richard Tarkington, 57, is the pastor of the Word of Faith Christian Center in Lubbock. While I can unfortunately imagine what Tarkington was doing in his short film, I'll never understand why these middle-aged online predators think a video of their naked, saggy bodies --and even saggier genitals-- will somehow seduce a young girl.

And Finally... Kabbalah Will Help You Lose That Fat Ass!
Wanna shed those unwanted pounds fast? Forget about dieting and sweaty workouts, just turn to Kabbalah! Wait, actually, turn to Rabbi Areyah Kaltmann (l.) who's gonna teach you the secrets to losing weight using Kabbalah! (He doesn't profit from the former proposition, you see). Anyway, Kaltmann claims to have lost 60 pounds by utilizing the mystical teachings of Kabbalah. Standing at a humble 5 foot 8 inches and now weighing 205 pounds, Kaltmann is still miles away from what anyone would consider svelte and yet he has the gall to start teaching his magical weight-loss methods to the public. "Diet Divine: The Kabalistic Secret to Weight Loss" is a six-week course that will offer a mix of theology and advice from the rabbi but absolutely no diet or exercise plans -- making it sound like every sham diet pill and fad on the market.

The Death Row Muslim Convert and Rabbi Phone Sex

Murderer Recites Muslim Prayer Before Execution
In Columbus, OH, a prisoner about to be executed via lethal injection recited a Muslim prayer in Arabic. Vernon Lamont Smith (l.) was sentenced to death for killing a store owner in 1993. "There’s no god but God, and Muhammed is his prophet," proclaimed the murderer before falling unconscious. Smith converted to Islam while on death row and changed his name to to Abdullah Sharif Kaazim Mahdi.

Man Killed Daughter For Becoming "Too Westernized"
In Arizona, a man
is undergoing a mental evaluation after the honor killing of his daughter.
On October 20, Faleh Hassan Almaleki (r.), 49, ran over his 20-year-old daughter over with his car because he believed she had become "too westernized". The mental evaluation was recommended by Almaleki's lawyer because he thinks his client might be just a little bit crazy.

Minister Arrested for Child Molestation
In Georgia, a local minister has been arrested on charges of child molestation. Kenneth Terrell, 45, was charged Wednesday with child molestation and sexual battery related to an incident with a child under 5 years old. Terrell is a pastor at the New Harvest International Ministries Church in Bloomingdale.

Priest Sex Abuse Trials Underway
In Washington, preliminary hearings are underway in a case of a man who claims he was molested at a Catholic group home for boys. It will be the first in a slew of similar trials (as many as 20) to be held over the next two years against the Morning Star Boys Ranch, which was founded by the Catholic Church almost 50 years ago.

And Finally... Rabbi Suspected of Making 1,200 Dirty Phone Calls to Children!

In Israel, a 36-year-old rabbi was arrested for allegedly making 1,200 obscene phone calls to children. The rabbi is suspected of calling kids in the afternoon and asking them sexual questions. But wait, the rabbi has an excuse! Apparently, he told police he was studying child sexual assault and doing research. I think I've heard better excuses on To Catch a Predator.

Muslim Groups Upset Over Face Covering Ban and the Prison Minister Program

College Bans Face Covering on Campus, Muslim Groups Not Happy
In Boston, The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has introduced a new policy that bans students, faculty and staff from covering their faces on campus. Obviously, this has drawn the ire of several Muslim advocacy groups who want Muslim women to be except from following the house rules. The school claims the ban was put in place for safety reasons while the opponents of the ban believe the new policy was "designed to specifically target Muslims".

Study: 1/3 of US terror suspects are converts to Islam
In Durham, NC, a new study conducted by Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill found that about 1/3 of terror suspects since the September 11th attacks were converts to Islam. Additional findings include a profile of the typical suspect: male, under age 30 and either U.S.-born, a naturalized citizen or legal resident of the country.

Bodies of Three Dead Children Found in Cult Leader's Home
In Uganda, police exhumed the bodies of three children (two were 3 years old, the other 2 years old) who died under suspicious circumstances and were secretly buried at a home of a detained cult leader. The grisly discovery followed the arrest of four members of the Ttonda Bulongo cult. Members of the cult do not treat their sick and believe that they are immortal.

And Finally... Go To Prison, Become a Minister!
At the State Penitentiary in Angola, Louisiana, about 150 prisoners have earned Bachelor of Arts degrees from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary --effectively making them ministers-- and another 100 are on track to join the brethren. About 90 percent of the prison's inmates (all of whom have violent criminal histories) are expected to die there due to the length of their terms. Apparently, the program has proved to be a "success" and the seminary has begun similar ones at prisons in Mississippi and Georgia. Unfortunately, this article paints a rosy picture of the program and its participants, pointing to the fact that its provided prisoners with a renewed sense of hope. No word yet on how any of this actually helps the victims of these newly-ordained and aspiring "ministers", though.

If Super Fly was a Priest and The Cure for Infidelity

Drug Dealing Bishop Pleads Guilty

In Riverside, CA, Bishop Anthony Martinez Garduno (l.), 51, has pleaded guilty to selling illegal drugs, which includes methamphetamine and the date rape drug G.H.B. And if that's not bad enough, it was allegations of sexual abuse that lead to the initial search of Garduno's church, where police uncovered the drugs. For his dope dealing, Garduno can face up to four years in prison. Until the arrest, Garduno, a "defrocked" Roman Catholic priest, was the founder and self-appointed bishop of the Our Lady of Tepeyac Church.

Competency Hearing for Religious Nutcase Who Starved Kin
In New York, a competency hearing will begin tomorrow for a woman charged with starving her children. The accused, Estelle Walker, 50, was temporarily placed in a cabin with her kids by her church. When it came time to leave, Walker refused and told church officials that God told her to say. During that period, Walker allowed her children -- ages 8, 9, 11 and 13 -- to go for days without food. Apparently, because of her religious views, Walker is being uncooperative with her attorneys and told the judge that "God will defend me".

Former Catholic Priest Begins Jail Time for Sex Abuse
On Monday in Elyria, OH, a former priest began a 90-day sentence for having sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy in 1997. The Rev. Patrick O'Connor (r.), 52, pleaded guilty in September to corruption of a minor. Sadly, as in many of these cases, this wasn't the first time the randy reverend was accused of sexual misconduct with minors. In 2003, O'Connor was accused of sexually abusing a minor in the late 1980s. An investigation was conducted by the diocese and the Vatican and surprise, surprise, they found no evidence of abuse and O'Connor was reinstated in September 2007.

And finally...The Cure for Marital Infidelity -- More Wives!
If you're a lady "past marrying age" who's having a hard time finding a hubby, the Ikhwan Polygamy Club may be able to help. Based in Malaysia, this Islamic organization claims to assist single mothers and older bachelorettes in finding husbands -- or, perhaps, husband. Although polygamy is legal in Malaysia, the club is being accused as being a front for the revival of Al-Arqam, a defunct Islamic movement that was banned in 1994 for “deviant” religious teachings. Regardless of that, club members believe polygamy is a way to overcome such social ills as extramarital affairs and prostitution. I hate to sound like Brit Hume but perhaps the club should send a pamphlet to Tiger Woods.

Honor Killing Over Virginity, Dead Animals and a Cop

Man Orders Honor Killing of Daughter for Losing Her Virginity
In Germany, a Kurdish man has been sentenced to life in prison for ordering the honor killing of his daughter after he found out she lost her virginity and had secretly undergone an abortion. The man's 20-year-old son and a friend, 37, lured the girl to an empty road where they tied her up and bashed her face in. The actual murderers received a fairly light sentence in comparison with the one who ordered the killing. Due to his age, the son received 9 1/2 years and his assistant only got 7 1/2. Here's hoping they have those much-feared "Bubba" types in the German prison system.

Hundreds of Dead Animals Found in Home
In a Philadelphia home, police found up to 500 dead animals that were used in some bizarre religious ritual. The remains found include cats, deers, monkey, beavers, cobras and even leopards (!). As sickening as it sounds, sacrificing animals for religious purposes is apparently legal if the rituals are carried out humanely. Don't know about you but the idea of "humane killing" (for nonsensical purposes, specifically) has always struck me as an amusing contradiction.

And finally...Cop Uses Billy Club During Church Service

In Germany, a police officer has been suspended from duty after being caught having sex during a church service. Police said that a church visitor discovered the officer with a lady doing the wild thing during an early-morning service last week. Disturbing religious activities can carry a sentence of up to three years in prison in Germany, apparently.

GOD CRIMES RELAUNCHING NEXT WEEK

Dear readers,

My apologies for the lull in updates. Sometimes life gets in the way of our true passions.

Since my last update, religiously-motivated crime and the crimes of the religious continue to wreak havoc in our society. I can no longer sit idly by while lives are taken, destroyed and adversely effected by imbeciles who believe in phantoms and superheros.

The site will be relaunched next week.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Elizabeth Smart's Nightmarish Ordeal & The Polygamy Club

Elizabeth Smart Repeatedly Raped by Religious Fanatic Kidnapper

A US woman kidnapped from her bedroom as a 14-year-old has told a Utah court how she was repeatedly raped by her attacker over a nine month period A US woman kidnapped from her bedroom as a 14-year-old has told a Utah court how she was repeatedly raped by her attacker over a nine month period Elizabeth Smart, now 21, has alleged that Brian Mitchell, 55, had threatened to murder her after taking her at knifepoint from her bedroom in June 2002. Ms Smart said Mitchell held a knife to her throat before taking her to a remote campsite where he performed a bizarre marriage ceremony before raping her. She alleged she was then tied to a tree to stop her from escaping and was later given alcohol and drugs and made to watch pornography. Mitchell, a self-styled religious minister, has been described by his lawyers as "delusional" and unable to assist in the defence of his case. (Source: Birmingham Star)

Two Men Deny Honor Killing in Halifax
Two men have denied involvement in a suspected honour killing in Halifax. Allah Yaar, 18, of Craven Terrace, Pellon, Halifax, and Omar Mubareck, 28, of Bawtree Road, Sheffield, are accused of murdering 29-year-old Mian Shahid Mehmood at Great Edge Road, Warley, Halifax. Both pleaded not guilty to the charge at Bradford Crown Court. Their trial has been fixed for November 16. Both were remanded in custody. (Source: Evening Courier)

Malay "Prophet" Admits He's Full of Shit
SHAH ALAM: Abdul Kahar Ahmad, who allegedly proclaimed himself a Malay prophet (Rasul Melayu), said he was sorry for hurting the feelings of Muslim and urged his followers to get back on the “right track.” The leader of an allegedly deviationist Muslim sect said this in a letter of confession read out by his newly-appointed lawyer Zulkifli Che Yong before Syariah High Court judge Abu Zaky Mohammad. The 59-year-old father of six had on Sept 24 pleaded guilty to five charges under the Selangor Syariah Criminal Enactment Act for proclaiming himself a prophet of the Malays, conducting deviationist teachings, violating the Selangor Mufti’s order, blasphemy and spreading false beliefs. Sex Abuse Charges Filed Against Retired Miami Priests
The Archdiocese of Miami is named in two new lawsuits filed by men who claim they were sexually molested by South Florida priests more than forty years ago. According to one of the men's suits in 1966 when he was only 14-years-old his mother was urged to send him to Boystown after he got into some trouble. The man claims his mother was told to bring her son to Father Neil Flemming who would take him to the Boystown organization in West Kendall which housed and educated at risk children. The man's claim after his mother dropped him off with Flemming, the priest repeatedly molested him for two days in the rectory. (Source: CBS4.com)

Ex-Priest Arrested in MD for Child Sex Abuse
OCEAN CITY – An alleged child sex abuse case involving a former Catholic priest and an unidentified victim in Ocean City and other area towns dating back to 1977 resurfaced this week when OCPD detectives traveled to North Carolina to arrest the now 64-year-old suspect. Earlier this spring, the Ocean City Police Department received a complaint of the sexual abuse of a minor. The alleged incidents were to have taken place in Ocean City between 1977 and 1982 and involved a former priest, later identified as Michael Lowell Barnes, 64, of Haywood County, N.C. At the time of the alleged abuse, the victim was a minor child. (Source: The Dispatch)

And finally...Polygamy Club Wants to Promote Positive Values
A new polygamy club in Malaysia is trying to match multiple women to single husbands, in the name of Islam. They say it's a way to help women who are isolated or marginalised - like widows or reformed sex workers - and to promote positive values. But the club has links to a the leader of an Islamic cult that was banned in the 1990s. It was founded last month by Hatijah Aam, who says she wants polygamy to be seen as something beautiful. Club supporters laud polygamy's virtues, noting the prophet Mohammed had multiple wives , and saying it's a way for men to satisfy their need for multiple partners without adultery or prostitution. The Child Rapist Turned Minister & "Bruno"

Child Rapist Ordained as Minister
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A tiny Louisville church's newest minister is a gifted music leader and popular among its three dozen members. Mark Hourigan (l.) is also a sex offender. Almost a decade ago, long before he joined the flock at the City of Refuge Worship Center, he was convicted of sexually abusing an 11-year-old boy in central Kentucky. Hourigan served a five-year sentence and the 41-year-old was placed on Kentucky's sex offender registry for the rest of his life. A former leader at the church along with an abuse victims advocacy group say Hourigan is a risk to hurt another child and he should not have been placed in a position of authority. "He's still a threat" to children, said Cal Pfeiffer, who was abused by a Catholic priest as a young student in Louisville in the late 1950s and early 60s. Pfeiffer and experts on religion and sexual abuse believe it could be the first time a convicted sex offender has been knowingly ordained as a minister in a Christian church. New Islamist Tactic: "Love Jihad"
Kerala has a new concern: “love jihad”. The state High Court on Wednesday directed the Kerala Police and Union Home Ministry to probe the alleged movement, under which young Muslim boys reportedly target college girls for conversion by feigning love. The court also asked the state and Centre to look into the sources that “fund” the love jihad, the number of girls who have got “trapped in the racket” in the past three years and its extremist links, if any. Justice K T Sankaran was hearing anticipatory bail applications of two Muslim youths, accused of “luring” two MBA students into marriage for reportedly the purpose of religious conversion. The court rejected their bail pleas. The two youths were allegedly associated with Campus Front, a student outfit of the right-wing Muslim organisation Popular Front of India (PFI). Muslim Clerics Condemn New Coed University
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — A prominent Muslim cleric has criticized a new Saudi university launched by King Abdullah for allowing men and women to take classes together. Sheik Saad Bin Naser al-Shethri, who is a member of the powerful government-sanctioned Supreme Committee of (Islamic) Scholars, was quoted Wednesday in the Al-Watan daily as demanding an end to coed classes at the newly opened King Abdullah Science and Technology University. "Mixing is a great sin and a great evil," al-Shethri was quoted as saying. "When men mix with women, their hearts burn and they will be diverted from their main goal (which is) ... education." Al-Shethri's comments indicate there may be significant opposition to the country's first fully integrated coed university among the kingdom's powerful religious establishment. Nun Witnessed Reverend Grab Boy's Crotch and Did Nothing
A Roman Catholic nun told a Burlington jury Wednesday that she saw then-Rev. Edward Paquette briefly grab a boy in the genital area at a Catholic school in Montpelier in the mid-1970s. "He was going up the stairs behind another young student, and he grabbed him in the crotch," Sister Mary Crosby told the jurors. Crosby said she was in the hallway of the school when the incident occurred. She said no one else saw what happened and that she did not confront Paquette about it. Her testimony came during the second day of the trial involving claims Paquette molested an altar boy at Christ the King Church in Burlington between 20 and 25 times in the late 1970s. Bishop Facing Kiddie Porn Charges, Archbishop "Stunned"

The Archbishop of Halifax says he was stunned to hear that Bishop Raymond Lahey is facing child pornography charges, and it’s the bishop’s duty to surrender. "It’s one (feeling) of sadness and shock, and you know, quite devastating to be faced with this kind of revelation," Archbishop Anthony Mancini (l.) said Wednesday evening, hours after learning that the former bishop of the Diocese of Antigonish is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant on charges of possessing and importing child pornography. "This wasn’t an expected (situation) . . . it’s just become an added level of difficulty with great impact." Ottawa police laid the charges last Friday, 10 days after Bishop Lahey’s laptop computer was checked at the Ottawa airport as he was returning from the U.S. That’s when police found "images of concern." Bishop Lahey was originally released but an arrest warrant is now out for him. (Source: The Chronicle Herald)

God Told Me To: Father Circumcises Two Sons Without Anesthetic
MORGANTON, NC (WBTV) - A father accused of abusing two of his sons by performing circumcisions when they were infants took the stand in his own defense Wednesday. John Marlowe is representing himself in the case which is being held at the Caldwell County courthouse. In court on Wednesday, Marlowe admitted he circumcised the two children without any anesthetic. He says God told him to perform the circumcisions. "The main reason I did it was, the Holy Spirit pressed me to do it," he said. Marlowe said he learned how to do it from reading books and the internet. He used his shirt to demonstrate to the courtroom his surgical method. "[I] pulled the skin over the tip and cut it off," he said. (Source: WIS10)

And finally..."Bruno" Too Gay For Malays
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Malaysia has banned U.S. box office hit "Bruno" by Sacha Baron Cohen because it highlights gay life and has gay sex scenes, an official said Tuesday. "Bruno" — following Baron Cohen's hit "Borat" — is centered around the adventures of a flamboyant gay fashion journalist from Austria. An official from Malaysia's Film Censorship Board said the movie was considered unacceptable because of its story line, offensive language, jokes and racy nature. She declined to be named, citing protocol. "It's banned because the story is based on gay life ... There are a lot of sex scenes," she said. "It's contrary to our culture." Gay sex, or "carnal intercourse against the order of nature," is punishable by up to 20 years in jail and whipping in Malaysia. Sex toys, politically incorrect comments and jokes about religion also irked the censors, she said. (Source: Associated Press)

Vatican Boasts About Its Low Number of Child Raping Priests & Jewel's #1 Fan

Vatican: Hey, we're not the only religious sexual predators!
The Vatican has lashed out at criticism over its handling of its paedophilia crisis by saying the Catholic church was "busy cleaning its own house" and that the problems with clerical sex abuse in other churches were as big, if not bigger. In a defiant and provocative statement, issued following a meeting of the UN human rights council in Geneva, the Holy See said the majority of Catholic clergy who committed such acts were not paedophiles but homosexuals attracted to sex with adolescent males. The statement, read out by Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the Vatican's permanent observer to the UN, defended its record by claiming that "available research" showed that only 1.5%-5% of Catholic clergy were involved in child sex abuse. He also quoted statistics from the Christian Scientist Monitor newspaper to show that most US churches being hit by child sex abuse allegations were Protestant and that sexual abuse within Jewish communities was common. (Source: The Guardian)

OC Pastor Arrested on Molestation Charges
An Orange County pastor accused of molesting several underage girls is in custody and Anaheim police are asking other potential victims to come forward, authorities said today. Jose Campoverde, 45, pastor of Ministerio Cristo Vive church in Anaheim, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of lewd conduct with a minor, sexual battery, child annoyance and false imprisonment involving four girls under age 17, said Sgt. Rick Martinez. Detectives began investigating Campoverde after a 17-year-old girl came to Anaheim police in early September. The victim told police Campoverde offered to give her a ride while she was waiting at a bus stop and then touched her inappropriately and tried to kiss her. (Source: Los Angeles Times)

Pedophile Priest Accused of Groping Altar Boy
Vermont's Roman Catholic Diocese is once again on trial in a civil case brought by a former altar boy who was sexually abused by a priest. This is the fourth case to go to trial of two dozen lawsuits filed by 23 former altar boys who claim the Vermont Diocese was negligent because it failed to protect them from pedophile priest Edward Paquette more than 30 years ago. This 44-year-old plaintiff says he was only 11 and an altar boy at Christ the King Church in Burlington when he was groped at least two dozen times by former priest Edward Paquette. The dead man known as Ching Chi Vui @ Ivan, 37, headed the “Benevolent Missionary Association” about which little is known. Police stormed the house at Taman Kobusak Villa in Penampang on Friday night and found three women, including twin sisters, conducting prayers for their “prophet” to come back to life. Police remained tight-lipped over the bizarre discovery but it is believed that the body was badly decomposed but neighbours had not complained of a foul smell. (Source: The Star Online)

And finally...God Sends Man on Mission to Stalk Jewel

Kozelka was reportedly warned the day prior not to come back to the property. (Source: WiredPRNews.com)

Child Bride Dies Giving Birth & The Banana Sex Cult

Child Bride Dies While Giving Birth
CNN: AMMAN, Jordan -- A 12-year-old Yemeni girl, who was forced into marriage, died during a painful childbirth that also killed her baby, a children's rights group said Monday. Fawziya Ammodi struggled for three days in labor, before dying of severe bleeding at a hospital on Friday, said the Seyaj Organization for the Protection of Children. "Although the cause of her death was lack of medical care, the real case was the lack of education in Yemen and the fact that child marriages keep happening," said Seyaj President Ahmed al-Qureshi. Born into an impoverished family in Hodeidah, Fawziya was forced to drop out of school and married off to a 24-year-old man last year, al-Qureshi said.

Voters Back Adultery Death Law

The Press Association: Lawmakers in a devoutly Muslim Indonesian province voted unanimously that adulterers can be sentenced to death by stoning, just months after voters chose to throw conservative Islamic parties out of power. With only weeks to go before a new government led by a moderate party takes over in Aceh province, hard-liners still in control of the regional parliament have pushed through legislation to impose steep punishments for adultery and homosexuality. The chairman of the 69-seat house asked if the bill could be passed into law and members answered in unison: "Yes, it can." Some members of the moderate Democrat Party, which will lead the incoming government, voiced reservations, but none of them voted against the bill.

Sex Offender Ordained As Priest
MyStateline.com: A rather unique minister was ordained yesterday at a Louisville church. The new minister at the City of Refuge Worship Center in Germantown, Kentucky 41-year-old Mark Hourigan, is a past sex offender. Hourigan served nearly five years in prison for sexual abuse and sodomizing an eleven-year-old boy. He was released three years ago and attended two sex offender treatment programs. Fellow congregants don't seem to mind, but the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests has spoken out against the ordination.

Former Pastor Arrested for Insurance Fraud
The Laurinburg Exchange: A Scotland County pastor made his first court appearance Monday on charges he defrauded his insurance business customers out of a total of $45,000. James William Rupard, 47, of 12460 Angus Drive, Laurinburg, is charged with three counts of embezzlement by an insurance agent and three counts of obtaining property by false pretense, according to investigators with the Laurinburg Police Department, Department of Insurance Criminal Investigations Division and the State Bureau of Investigation.

And finally... Banana Sex Cult Leader on the Run
ABC News: Papua New Guinea police are hunting the leader of a sex cult that promised villagers a bumper banana harvest if they engaged in public sex. The alert was raised after a villager from Yamina in Morobe province walked 12 hours to the nearest town to report the cult's activities. He told police the cult's leader and his followers have been using threats of violence to force people to have sex in public for the past four months. The Post Courier reports villagers had been promised their banana harvest would increase every time they fornicated publicly. Three police officers trekked into the village over the weekend but the leader, identified as Thomas Peli, was able to escape into the bush. Police reinforcements are being sent to the area.

Muslims to Pray for America's Soul & The Voodoo Conman

Muslims to Pray for America's "Soul" in DC
In Elizabeth, NJ, a local mosque is organizing a national prayer gathering outside the U.S. Capitol on September 25 to pray for, among other things, "the soul of America". Say what!? The event will not include political speeches or placards, just prayer, said Hassen Abdellah, president of Dar-ul-Islam and a main organizer of the event. Abdellah said he expects 50,000 people to attend from mosques around the country. "Most of the time, when Muslims go to Washington D.C., they go there to protest some type of event," Abdellah said. "This is not a protest. Never has the Islamic community prayed on Capitol Hill for the soul of America. We're Americans. We need to change the face of Islam so people don't feel every Muslim believes America is 'the great Satan,' because we love America." As one America-loving citizen to another: Thanks, but no thanks. Pastor Busted in Online Prostitution Sting
In St. Paul, Minn., a pastor for a virtual church that meets in a school in a Minneapolis suburb was arrested in an online prostitution sting. Rev. John Kameron Erbele, 35, senior pastor of LifePrint Church, was among the 16 johns arrested Tuesday after responding to an online prostitution ad. UPI.com reported that the church's web site (www.LifePrintChurch.net) said that Erbele "has had over 13 years experience in the church and virtual world." Kinda hard not to snicker at the last part considering the circumstances. Not surprising, all mention of the pervy pastor has since been removed. A new button on the site called "Urgent Update" alludes to Erbele's arrest ("The recent events have been difficult for everyone.") and encourages folks to pray and trust in "Him". Nice job covering things up, guys!

Arab Group Charged Over Anti-Semitic Cartoons

In the Netherlands, an Arab organization is to be put on trial over its publication of a cartoon (r.) deemed offensive to Jews. The cartoon, published on the website of the Arab European League (AEL), depicts two men standing near a pile of bones at "Auswitch" (sic). One says, "I don't think they're Jews", to which the other guy replies, "we have to get to the six million somehow." I guess anti-Semites have a different comic sensibility. Anyway, the group said the decision to prosecute shows bias against Muslims. AEL chairman Abdoulmouthalib Bouzerda alleges that, "Freedom of expression is only a pretext to make life bitter for Muslims... and if [they] try to bring this hypocrisy to light, that right is denied them."

And finally... Conman Uses Voodoo Dolls to Ward Off Victims' Testimony
In Tennessee, a crooked financial adviser, who has pleaded guilty to stealing $19 million from victims’ retirement plans, spent part of his time in jail making voodoo dolls of his victims and sticking them with pins to ward off their damaging testimony. But the wackiness doesn't end there for Barry R. Stokes, who could face 22 years in jail for embezzlement and fraud after he was busted in 2006. The conman also consulted the guidance of a telephone psychic while in jail and even wrote a letter to the seer, saying he was lighting candles and throwing salt over his shoulder to keep creditors and critics at bay. So far, none of these tactics appear to be working.

DC Archbishop Mobilizes Priests to Oppose Gay Marriage
Washington Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl (r.) is plunging the Catholic Church deeper into the battle over legalizing same-sex marriage in the District, a tactic that could complicate the D.C. Council's efforts to quickly take up the matter this fall. Wuerl sent a letter to 300 local Catholic priests Tuesday reminding them about the Church's opposition to same-sex marriage, and he launched a round of media interviews to bolster the church's presence in the debate.

Priest Faces Sex Abuse Allegation
In Watertown, Mass, a Roman Catholic priest serving at a local parish has been placed on administrative leave while the Boston Archdiocese investigates allegation of child sexual assault. The archdiocese said in a statement that the alleged abuse took place two decades ago but came to light recently. The Rev. Frederick Barr most recently has served at St. Patrick Church in Watertown. He worked at St. Luke Church in Belmont from 1985 to 1990, when the assault allegedly took place. The archdiocese did not disclose specific details about the allegations, nor the sage and sex of the alleged victim.

Ex-Priest Arrested for Trying to Have Sex with Teen
In Chicago, former priest Wayne E. Wigglesworth, 68, is accused of trying to have sex with a teen he met in an internet chat room. Wigglesworth was arrested Aug. 17 after police pulled him over after his car made an improper turn. They found the 15-year-old teen with him, but the teen didn't know Wigglesworth's name. When police further questioned him, the teen said he met Wigglesworth through an Internet chat room and they talked for several days. Wigglesworth eventually asked to meet the teen so they could perform oral sex on each other and then "hold and hug each other," according to the criminal complaint.

"God Told Me To" Murderer Found Competent to Stand Trial
In Mansfield, Massachusetts, a man accused of killing his 6-year-old daughter because God told him to do it has been found competent to stand trial. Prosecutors said Monday that state psychologists at Bridgewater State Hospital made the determination after evaluating 35-year-old Kristopher Griffin (l.). Authorities allege Griffin killed Kaitlynn Griffin on July 24 by slashing her throat. Officers found the suspect covered in blood and walking barefoot not far from the girl’s home. Griffin, who has a history of mental illness, has pleaded not guilty to murder and armed home invasion.

And finally...A Prayer Before Sex
In case you're into kinky, bizarre bedroom rituals, a new book in the UK features a special prayer to be said before sex, which supposedly helps couples "purify their intentions". The Prayer Before Making Love implores God "to place within us love that truly gives, tenderness that truly unites, self-offering that tells the truth and does not deceive, forgiveness that truly receives, loving physical union that welcomes". Um...okay. This little ditty, along with others, is featured in Prayer Book for Spouses, a 64-page book published by a "prominent" church group alled Catholic Truth Society and retails for £1.95 (or roughly $3.17 USD). The Rt Rev Paul Hendricks, who is the Auxiliary Bishop of Southwark, praised the book saying, “'It is important for the Church to affirm the value of marriage and family life and I suppose this is a particular way of doing that.
