Voodoo Gang Arrested & Who's the (Wo)Man?

Gang Used Voodoo to Coerce Women into Prostitution

In Madrid, police have arrested a gang that used threats of voodoo curses to force Nigerian women to work as prostitutes in Germany. 53 people were arrested in Spain and one in Germany. During the eight month joint Spanish-German investigation police discovered that the network forged all kinds of identification to ensure they were allowed to enter the country. During the raids the police seized: a large number of counterfeit documentation, 100 grams of heroin and many voodoo-related items.

Youth Group Leader Accused of Having Sex with Teen

If convicted, he could be sentenced to more than three years in state prison.

God Obeys Florida Governor, Apparently
Since Charlie Crist took office in 2006, Florida has been hurricane free. Coincidence? Oh c'mon silly child, there are never coincidences when it comes to the faithful! Today the Republican governor told a group of real estate agents that he's had prayer notes placed in the Western Wall in Jerusalem each year and no major storms have hit Florida. According to Crist, the note reads, "Dear God, please protect our Florida from storms and other difficulties. Charlie." However, he ensures us that he's not taking the credit for his storm-free administration. "I give that to God," Crist said.

And finally...Running Champ Really Is a Woman, God Just Made Her Look Like a Man: Dad
This is, perhaps, one of the oddest stories of the week. In case you haven't heard, a South African runner who recently won the women's 800 meter at the World Championships is being accused of cheating. But it's not performance-enhancing drugs or gambling. Instead there is speculation that 18-year-old Caster Semenya (l.) is really a guy -- and this accusation is being taken very seriously. In fact, the IAAF, organizers of the World Championships, have asked South Africa to test Caster's gender. Fortunately, Caster's father has come to her defense (sort of) saying, "It is God who made her look that way but she is a girl." Not exactly the sweetest thing you can say about your little angel but at least... Hell, I don't know.
