L. Ron Hubbard Also Faked a PhD, By the Way
Just in case you didn't know, Scientology creator L. Ron Hubbard was a lying scam artist who had a penchant for making shit up. Since a whole lotta folks apparently didn't get the memo, The Times in the UK has dug up some incriminating 30-year-old documents that prove the science-fiction writer had awarded himself a fake PhD from a "diploma mill" college he owned. The papers have been under wraps for decades because of a well-orchestrated cover-up by Scientology followers after the scam was exposed. Fortunately, The Times successfully obtained the the documents after a request under the Freedom of Information Act. Does this mean the downfall of the Church of Scientology and a normal life for Katie Holmes? I wouldn't bet on it.
