The Death Row Muslim Convert and Rabbi Phone Sex

Murderer Recites Muslim Prayer Before Execution
In Columbus, OH, a prisoner about to be executed via lethal injection recited a Muslim prayer in Arabic. Vernon Lamont Smith (l.) was sentenced to death for killing a store owner in 1993. "There’s no god but God, and Muhammed is his prophet," proclaimed the murderer before falling unconscious. Smith converted to Islam while on death row and changed his name to to Abdullah Sharif Kaazim Mahdi.

Man Killed Daughter For Becoming "Too Westernized"
In Arizona, a man
is undergoing a mental evaluation after the honor killing of his daughter.
On October 20, Faleh Hassan Almaleki (r.), 49, ran over his 20-year-old daughter over with his car because he believed she had become "too westernized". The mental evaluation was recommended by Almaleki's lawyer because he thinks his client might be just a little bit crazy.

Minister Arrested for Child Molestation
In Georgia, a local minister has been arrested on charges of child molestation. Kenneth Terrell, 45, was charged Wednesday with child molestation and sexual battery related to an incident with a child under 5 years old. Terrell is a pastor at the New Harvest International Ministries Church in Bloomingdale.

Priest Sex Abuse Trials Underway
In Washington, preliminary hearings are underway in a case of a man who claims he was molested at a Catholic group home for boys. It will be the first in a slew of similar trials (as many as 20) to be held over the next two years against the Morning Star Boys Ranch, which was founded by the Catholic Church almost 50 years ago.

And Finally... Rabbi Suspected of Making 1,200 Dirty Phone Calls to Children!

In Israel, a 36-year-old rabbi was arrested for allegedly making 1,200 obscene phone calls to children. The rabbi is suspected of calling kids in the afternoon and asking them sexual questions. But wait, the rabbi has an excuse! Apparently, he told police he was studying child sexual assault and doing research. I think I've heard better excuses on To Catch a Predator.
